Progressive Components has a great opportunity for the right candidate to serve as a Demand Planner in the Wauconda office. This position is responsible for forecasting activities associated with all inventory needs. Also, works closely and collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain departments to create a consensus forecast.

 

Demand Planner

 

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory tools and analyze data about items from new product launch to recommended obsolescence. Manage and maintain current inventory, identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory. Track shipments to ensure they are complete, correct, on time and in the correct warehouse location.
  • Reporting: Utilize forecast and reporting tools to analyze forecast accuracy and identify root cause for errors to drive continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Demand Management: Provide input to the organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phaseouts. Develop, maintain, utilize, and validate predictive models to forecast demand. Participate in monthly demand review meetings to evaluate forecasting effectiveness, determine root-cause of any significant issues and coordinate the action plans to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Inventory and Purchasing Business Systems: Develop, manage, and maintain IVP business systems. Create the production plan by items of products for finished goods manufactured and collaborate with warehouse to create the daily, weekly, and/or annual production and labor schedules.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics preferred.
  2. Minimum 8 Years of experience required, 3 years of Supply Chain experience, preferably in Forecasting/Demand Planning.
  3. Certification APICS or CPIM preferred.
  4. Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.
  5. Experience in using and implementing demand planner software.
  6. Experience establishing key performance indicator metrics to benchmark and track performance.
  7. Working knowledge of the following supply chain functions: Purchasing, Demand Planning, Production Planning/Scheduling, Inventory Management, and Transportation.
